Pantech Duo broke.....i have AT&T......what will they do?
As you already know, the phone has a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. The number to warrant claim is 800-801-1101. Since you have only had the phone for 3 months, you would need to purchase another phone at retail price in order to get another device. If you can wait for another 3 months after getting the phone replaced, depending on where you live, you may be able to have an exception upgrade completed. If you go to a corporate at&t store you will need to pay close to the retail cost of the phone, sign a new 2 year agreement, have had your phone for 6 months, and never have your line suspended for non-payment. This can be a very frustrating situation but you may be able to find a better solution if you shop around. i work for an authorized retailer called Parrot Cellular- We're out of California. If you're in california you can come into one of our stores and get the full 2 year upgrade discount- (Something like the blackjack II will be $120). If you're not in california I know that there are other agent stores that process exception upgrades without the huge fees that the corporate stores charge, it's just going to take some shopping around on your part. You're definietly going to be stuck with the Duo for another 3 months if you don't want to pay retail price for the phone. Pantech, unfortunately does not invest very much money into the manufacturing of their phones, and as this is their first smartphone, your problem is not uncommon. I would highly recommend looking into a Samsung or Nokia when you're able to get a new device.
