Is it better to apply for ALL scholarships or select ones?

I'm wondering if it's better to apply for all of the scholarships offered through our school or is it better to pick the ones that more closely fit? For example, we have a Firefighters scholarship and a Rotary Club scholarship being offered, but I have no fire fighter or rotary club affiliation. Should I try for them anyway or will I be looked down upon for trying? Am I increasing my chances at receiving scholarships or am I sabotaging my chances by looking too greedy? I don't want to take away from another deserving student; but I would like to increase my odds at being granted one. All of these scholarships have the same SEND TO address so the scholarship committee will see that I have applied for everything. I don't know what the right thing to do is. Are there any scholarship board members out there who can tell me what my best course is? Apply for all, or only those which pertain to me. Thank you for your help.
