uming total identity death...?

This is a purely hypothetical question, simply to ascertain how it would affect peoples' quality of life, and feelings toward death if in fact individual identity was lost completely at death. Since the vast majority of people tend to believe in the continuation of individual identity in one form or another after death, their lives are inevitably influenced by the belief systems that attempt to provide some framework within which to live their lives to best prepare them for whatever reality awaits after bodily consciousness is permanently extinquished. How would you feel if nothing awaited you but unconscious being; no more independent existence apart from the rest of existence, akin to the time before you were born into bodily consciousness and individual, separate awareness of yourself? Would you fear death more or less than you do now, and would you find a greater appreciation for the short life alotted to you? Just curious.
