What are these flies called and how do I get rid of them?

Ok so I go down for my second bowl of stew/soup, I havn't eaten in 2 days so I am really eager for seconds, anyway as a pour the soup in the bowl I notice around 3 small black flies. I mistook them for the little sprout ends of the broccoli because they are pretty much the same size. I know this wouldn't bother much people but I am extremely sensitive with this kind of thing, I still feel like I'm going to be sick. I was wondering what they are called? Very small black flies with tiny wings and usually found in kitchen VERY SMALL. god I feel so sick, the thought that I've eaten a good few flies from that first helping is erghhh plz guys relate to me :(
